The snowmelt-engorged Fox appears to be receding. The high water marks on the flower petals tell me the dragonfly was never in danger, though the lilly pad still is under.
Second nice Saturday in a row, and several brave kayakers were putting in just below the dam with plans to paddle to Hwy. H, near Fox River Park today.
If you're wondering who the fool was that was getting too close to the top of the dam in his canoe last Saturday evening... Well, let's just say I know the dude.
I ran into Edward before leaving the dam and held him in my hands. Edward is a 20 or so year old box turtle from Pennsylvania who's owner, a knowledgeable and friendly young woman, brought him down to the plaza for a little sun and exercise. What an interesting pet to take out for a walk.
