Tom's blog will likely not save the world, but hopefully, you'll get some enjoyment from his ramblings.

re: Indian Summer

Wow Yankee6161......you bring up some very serious points I had never considered before. Seems to me that our greed and neverending pursuit of life as Americans sometimes makes us blind to our past history and what got us to where we are today. It's always good to reflect upon and apprceiate our past.

We have been critical of so many nation's polities towards indigenous populations (China, Turkey, Russia, Australia to name a few) yet we so completely fail to consider our own treatment of native Americans in the same light.

Kudos for educating your son about the proper traditions and culture of indigenous American people. We all must continue to take the necessary steps towards cultural enlightenment.

1. parents who let their kids run for a 1/4 mile (ok slight exaggeration) in either direction to take every piece of candy in the area. Menomonee Falls almost had a kid run over by one of the "boats" because the kid was literally in the middle of the parade route getting candy.
2. People just throwing out candy out of the back. Make people who hand out candy to "hand out" candy to people, not just throw it out of the back of their car

applebee s coupons

Pingback from applebee s coupons

Why, when the voters of Germantown have already voted against building a new school, does the School Board feel the need to try and push a new school referendum through again in November to build another school at the cost of $200.00 a square foot?! There are other communities that have built schools for half that cost! While I agree that something needs to be done, I feel that the school board needs to take a close
look at the amount of money that they are asking for. They do not even have money budgeted for road improvements that will be needed, the cost for that needs to be taken into acount as well, that is not free.
I am outraged that the School Board would actually ask for the same amount of money again.

For what it's worth, our phones at work display display the time and automatically change with daylight savings, but they are still set for the OLD daylight savings so they changed last weekend. For the past week I've been looking at my phone thinking it was one hour earlier than it really was. Not too bad when it's 5 p.m. and I think it's only 4 p.m., but hard to adjust when I think I have an hour to prepare for a meeting that is starting NOW.
