Shorewood Business Improvement District Announces Learn Over Lunch Program

Tuesday, February 26 and Tuesday, March 18

North Star American Bistro, 4515 N. Oakland Ave., Shorewood, Wisconsin


The Shorewood Business Improvement District is pleased to announce its 2008 Learn Over Lunch programs tailored to meet the needs of Shorewood business owners and staff. Attendees will enjoy a delicious meal, specially prepared by Chef Duffy O’Neil, at the award-winning restaurant, North Star American Bistro, while they network with other business owners and village representatives. Participants will also learn new strategies to sharpen their business skills and be more successful in 2008.


Tuesday, February 26, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
“Discover The New Shorewood”
Special guests Chris Swartz-Village Manager, Pete Petrie-CDA Chair, and Jim Plaisted-BID Executive Director, will talk about about Shorewood’s exciting future and share details about dynamic development projects planned and underway. Learn about the transformation of public areas on Oakland Ave. and Capitol Dr. as well as plans for more vibrant retail, dining, business and residential possibilities. Prospective public art projects and enhancements to our parks, riverfront, and lakefront are also being considered.

“Transitioning From Working IN Your BusinessTo Working ON Your Business”
Coach Jim Palzewicz from ActionCOACH will share the process and mindset shift needed to get out of working IN your business to working ON your business - allowing you to create a business that will continue to grow, work and succeed without you!


Feed your mind and body and learn over lunch! Each program takes place from 11:30 until 1 p.m. and includes lunch, beverage and gratuity. The Shorewood Business Improvement District will also stage a special, day-long seminar on Tuesday, April 22, featuring publicity expert Joan Stewart. This in-depth workshop will focus on “Savvy Media Relations” and be invaluable to every business owner. A separate brochure/registration form will be available in March.
